| Hi All
I am considering signing up to the cycle to work scheme at the moment and the top amount I can request is £1000.
What road bike would you go for? It will need to be suitable for triathlon and cycling to work (on Sunny days!)?
There is so much choice I though I would see what make / model people like
Look forward to receiving your comments
Cheers

| Alright Billy,
Ive been looking at the carbon ribble bikes just over £1000 but you can pay the difference yourself if thats an option, had some good write ups though.

| Cheers Neil
The Ribble Sportive Carbon is top of the list but wondering if there is something that I am missing out on ie less money more kit!
Soon I will be all the gear & no Idea - there are other sayings but I think thats the cleanest
thanks for your input | |

| What about the planet x? good reviews although said to be a little noodly on descents but i'm thinking if you don't descend at break neck speeds like these pro's that probably wont bother yer.
Ive just looked at the sl pro carbon special euro build, and gone for the basic package and it came out at £910 and there signed up with the ctw scheme.

| Yo Billy, I guess it depends on which bike shop your company signs up with for the CTC scheme. My work place signed up with Halfords so I only had to consider the Boardman range (which constantly gets fantastic reviews). I got the Team bike at £800 (grey colour) but if you can stretch to a grand then the Team Carbon is the one to go for. Don't be put off by the reputation of Halfords as they now have specialist mechanics just for the Boardman bikes, the nearest is in Crewe for the Boardman range as the Halfords in the Stoke-area aren't Boardman trained yet. Alternatively the Planet X gets great reviews, but like I said it depends on which bike shop your company signs up with... and if you can go with Wiggle their Focus range is very well regarded too. Whatever bike you choose, you'll be saving a good whack of wad which is the best bit about the scheme, good luck and have fun ! | |

| Cheers Jaffa I popped into Halfords in Crewe at weekend and spoke to one of the chaps He said that you are not restricted to their catalogue and if it was on their suppliers supply list then they could order it The boardman is a strong option Too many choices | |
