We have been really fortunate to be offered an opportunity to do indoor bike training at Biddulph High School on Thursday nights for at least the next six weeks. (We were offered it through one of our new members, Steve Harp and his wife Zoe, so thanks to them.)
The first session will be next Thursday, 21st January, at 6:30pm.
We will be using a fleet of Watt Bikes which are the latest form of indoor bike trainers, endorsed by British Cycling. They are made by the same company as Concept 2 rowing machines and have a very realistic feel, not at all like a spin bike. You can find out more about them at www.wattbike.com.
The bikes will be connected to a computer with a display of all bike data on a large screen. During the nights we will have a combination of testing, training and racing.
Bikes are fitted with double sided pedals suitable for either trainers or cycling shoes fitted with SPD type cleats.
The size of the bike is not suitable for small children.
The school have kindly made the bikes available free of charge for a number of weeks. However, a donation to club funds would be appreciated - £1 or £2 would be adequate.
Places may be limited so please let Ken Matheson (ken@full-cycle.co.uk) know if you intend to come.
