Open Water Swim Training at Blithfield Reservoir

For anyone interested. Stafford Triathlon Club have managed to secure Swimming at Blithfield Resevoir.

Plenty of Parking, a bar, seating overlooking the water so the other half can watch you train, Warm showers, and changing rooms.

The session is on Thursday 6-7.30pm.

If Thursday becomes popular, we will also introduce a Sunday morning session.

We have 4 loops, from 720m up to just over 2 miles.

Non Club members are welcome, just make sure you can swim at least 800m unaided before coming.

Costs are £2 to Stafford Tri Club members and £4 for all others.

Thats sounds great will defo be up for that, boundry can get bit packed when they only have the shorter courses marked out

In order to get the session established the fee has been set at £2 for all swimmers. That means you'll have £2 extra to spend at the bar afterwards!

hi all, tried out the Blithfield swim last night, well worth the visit. Friendly, fun and informal, very different to Boundary Park and is not crowded due to the size of the lake and the length of the course (though there are windsurfers and topper dinghys to watch out for), parking is good, best of all it's only £2 for a swim. Only downsides are that you need to swim in pairs so find a swim partner who can go at the same pace, and that the session could do with being a bit longer, perhaps open until 8.30pm? Give it a go, definitely worth trying something different.
